Imperial Jade Coffee is a Kent-based roaster with an unusual focus: it sources exclusively from Yunnan province in China, a coffee-growing region almost entirely absent from the UK market. The business was started after founder Henry tried Yunnan coffee during travels in 2018, found nothing comparable on his return, and set out to source it himself.
His first confirmed supply came from ZhiXiang Estate, where a variety called Purple Cherry is grown. The roastery operates from Seal Chart near Sevenoaks, overlooking the Kent Downs.
Coffee is available online under two roast profiles, with brew guides and background on the Yunnan origin published on the site. It is a direct-to-consumer operation with no cafe presence.
