SkyDancer Coffee

SkyDancer is the only coffee roaster based in the Outer Hebrides, operating from Lochboisdale on South Uist. Founded by Sarah and Mike after they returned to Scotland in 2018, the roastery launched the following year.

Mike is also a photographer, and all SkyDancer packaging uses his abstract landscape images of the Outer Hebrides. The roastery donates a percentage of proceeds to protecting Hen Harriers, whose spring courtship display, the skydance, gives the business its name.

Uist is a stronghold for the species at a time when illegal persecution has significantly reduced their numbers elsewhere in the UK. Packaging is biodegradable and compostable.

The roastery supplies the islands locally and ships online.
