Steampunk Coffee started in 2012, roasting in a garage and serving from a vintage campervan called Mavis. The operation moved into an old warehouse in the centre of North Berwick on the East Lothian coast, which is now both roastery and cafe, open daily from nine to five.

The team roasts on a Diedrich and works through a small group of importers, often buying from the same farmers and cooperatives year after year, with origins including Peru, Colombia, Honduras, Rwanda, Uganda, Brazil, Myanmar and Timor-Leste. The cafe at 49A Kirk Ports serves three coffees on bar alongside cakes, and the online shop offers single bags, subscriptions and wholesale, with free UK shipping over twenty five pounds.
