The Roastery at Tate is based in a WWII Nissen Hut within the historic grounds of Tate Britain in Millbank, London. It operates as a non-profit community business whose revenues help fund the gallery.
The roastery runs the Gender Equality Coffee Project (GEP), a sourcing framework that splits green coffee procurement equally between female and male producers, developed in partnership with importers Falcon Specialty, Caravela, and SMC. The project is affiliated with the Partnership for Gender Equity and the World Coffee Research Institute.
Beyond the GEP, the Tate roastery operates a Slot Roasting Collective, providing roasting access to outside professionals and small businesses, and offers contract and white-label coffee services. Coffee can be ordered online and is also served at Tate's cafe sites.
