Ue Coffee Roasters was founded in Oxfordshire in 2009 by Dominic Boyett with the aim of becoming the first specialty roaster in the county. The business sources and imports its own green coffee directly, and has grown from 5 tonnes per year to 100 tonnes.
They roast in the Cotswolds and describe the operation as driven by long-standing relationships with producers. One specific element worth noting is their involvement with Biomma, a partnership through which they have supported two farms in the rainforest reserves of Honduras and Colombia.
Work there has included planting native shade trees and managing coffee cherry processing. This goes further than a certification claim and is tied to named farms.
They also offer a whisky barrel-aged coffee as part of their retail range.
