Wrexham Bean Co. was founded on Christmas Day 2021 by James and Rich, who identified that Wrexham had no specialty roastery of its own. Roasting began in 2022 from a converted garage with a 3kg Toper roaster, and the business has scaled steadily since: a move to a first commercial unit in 2024, a step up to a 10kg roaster, then a 15kg roaster added in 2025, and a move to a unit twice the size in 2026.

The roastery won the Food and Drink Award at the Insider Made in Wales Awards in 2025 and has been featured in Forbes, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Cymru, among others. Rich's family connection to Italian coffee culture runs through the founding story: his grandfather, Antonio Priamo, came to Wales as an Italian prisoner of war during the Second World War and stayed.

The roastery's retail bags feature artwork based on Wrexham landmarks. Customer reviews average 4.9 out of 5.
